The Name/Rate Game
How many houses do you want to see? And, based on this number, how many of these houses do you think you will actually remember once you get home!!! The reality is that most individuals tend to have the houses “blend” together after seeing more than 4-5 at any one time. Because of this I try not to schedule any more than 4-5 per appointment that we have together. Generally speaking, if you are ready to buy, it only takes 2-3 appointments for us to find the perfect house!
In order to help all of us remember the individual homes, I have come up with a system that has proven extremely effective. I call it “The Name/Rate Game”.
Here is how it works:
- For every house that we visit we will come up with a unique name for the home—the sillier the better! For example; the Bird House.
- Next, we will continually rank the Top 3. Once we get to 4, one of the homes has to go out of our “possible” list and into the trash—we will never think of it again! This helps to keep only the most qualified homes at the tops of our memory. It also assists in getting a clearer vision of what you are looking for.
- Finally, at the beginning of each appointment, we refresh our memories on the Top 3 and then compare every house that we view to these homes.
- And the best part is, once we do all of the above, we have now found your Dream Home!!!
